Husband ends marriage on Facebook

A husband used Facebook to tell his wife their six-year marriage was over, a court heard.
Mother-of-one Emma Brady, 35, claimed she learnt her husband was divorcing her only when he changed his status on the social networking site to read: "Neil Brady has ended his marriage to Emma Brady."
And she only found out after a friend in Denmark saw the online posting and called to ask her how she was.
The conference manager was said to be "shell shocked" at finding out on Facebook that her marriage was over despite the couple having "ups and downs" during their relationship.
Details of the break-up came as Brady was sentenced at Blackburn Magistrates' Court for assaulting his wife at their home in Accrington, Lancs.
The couple had been on separate nights out last Christmas and a row broke out when they both arrived back at the marital home, the court head.
Brady, 39, demanded to see his wife's mobile phone.
She refused to hand it over and he grabbed and injured her wrist before throwing her out of the house, the court was told.
Brady, an IT consultant now living with his mother in Accrington, pleaded guilty to the assault and was fined £580 and ordered to pay £100 compensation and £75 costs.
Gareth Price, defending, said his client denied that his wife first learnt of the divorce on Facebook and said the relationship had become increasingly strained.
